Officials and students of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) evaluated select mayoral and congressional candidates of Bacolod City during Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) DYHB’s Kilalahon Serye, held at Ayala Malls Capitol Central this week.
Hosted by DYHB station manager Jeony Bigay, the RMN Kilalahon Serye aimed to provide candidates in the National and Local Elections with a platform to present their policies, address key issues, and respond to pressing questions from Bacolod City voters.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay Estrellas, Dean Arjay Alvarado of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Program Chair Jose Lizael Lampinez of the Master in Public Administration program participated as panelists in three episodes of the voter education series.
On March 12, 2025, VP Estrellas joined external panelists from STI-WNU—Executive Vice President Ryan Mark Molina and College of Business Management and Accountancy Dean Mima Villanueva—alongside RMN’s Serge Santillan and Albert Giner, as internal panelists, in assessing mayoral aspirant and Bacolod Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya.
During the discussion, Estrellas primarily addressed topics related to good governance, urban planning and development, and peace and order. He emphasized the importance of student participation in voter education initiatives to enhance their understanding of the candidates and their platforms, which would help them make informed decisions in electing the city’s and the country’s future leaders.
Students from the Bachelor of Public Administration program also took part in an interactive discussion, where they had the opportunity to submit questions and share comments both onsite and via Facebook Live.
